Dr. Gurjot Reena Marwah, MD
About Me
I am a psychiatrist with 30 years of professional experience. Born in India, I received my medical degree from Government Medical College in Amritsar, India, and completed my psychiatry residency training at Creighton University-Phoenix.
I served as president of the Arizona Psychiatric Society in 2017,Mental health advocacy is close to my heart. I am committed to reducing stigma, giving a voice to those facing mental health challenges, and working toward better access to compassionate care. I continue to support legislative efforts to improve mental health care across Arizona
How I Help Patients
I help young adults understand their emotions, navigate life's challenges, and develop practical skills to support their mental health. I strive to create a welcoming space where you feel heard, respected, and comfortable speaking openly.
My Specialty
I work with college students, graduate students, and young professionals experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, relationship concerns, and academic or career pressures. My experience includes more than 25 years at Arizona State University, supporting the mental health needs of its students and faculty.
My Approach
I offer psychotherapy and medication management within one practice, allowing for coordinated, personalized care. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help patients recognize and change unhelpful patterns of thinking and behavior, alongside supportive psychotherapy, behavioral activation and other evidence-based approaches tailored to each person's needs. With his gentle nature, warm personality, and unconditional love, Pablo a fluffy golden doodle brings a unique sense of comfort and joy to our office. As my pet therapy companion, he helps create a calming, welcoming environment where patients can feel more relaxed, safe, emotionally supported and make difficult conversations feel a little easier.
Together, we develop a treatment plan that reflects your goals, strengths, and circumstances. I offer both in-person and online appointments and welcome patients from diverse cultural backgrounds, including international students.
How we approach care
Our guiding principles
You are more than a diagnosis
We take time to understand your full story — your history, your strengths, and what matters most to you — before forming any clinical impression.
Evidence meets empathy
Our treatment recommendations are grounded in current research and clinical best practices, always delivered with warmth and respect.
Care that evolves with you
Your needs change over time. We revisit and adjust your care plan regularly so it continues to reflect where you are — not just where you started.
Ready to take the first step?
Reaching out is the hardest part. We make the rest as easy as possible.
